The 2026 Tour de France is finally here, and among all the teams that make up the colourful peloton, there is one that is especially meaningful for us: the unmistakable green of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA. The first time GSPORT is present at the world's greatest cycling race—a memory that will last forever.

The Grand Départ from Barcelona turned Catalonia into the global epicentre of cycling during the opening days of the race. After Thursday's team presentation in the unique setting of the Sagrada Família, the Tour officially got underway on Saturday with a team time trial through the streets of the Catalan capital. Sunday's second stage concluded with a circuit featuring three climbs of Montjuïc, packed with fans eagerly awaiting the riders' arrival. On stage three, the peloton left Catalonia behind and crossed into France via the Pyrenees, where legendary mountain passes and thousands of passionate supporters awaited them along the roadside.

Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's presence at the Tour de France marks a major milestone for the Navarre-based team, which has returned to cycling's biggest stage thanks to a well-deserved invitation earned through its outstanding performances and consistent trajectory. From the moment the team's participation in the Tour was confirmed until the start of the opening stage, excitement within the squad was immense. More importantly, however, that excitement was backed by meticulous preparation, constant hard work and a firm belief that the team was ready to rise to the challenge.

And that commitment has already been evident throughout these opening days. The team has raced aggressively, placing riders in breakaways and remaining in contention with the favourites deep into the stages. Riders such as Joel Nicolau, Abel Balderstone and Alex Molenaar have featured in major breakaways, showcasing excellent form. Meanwhile, Jose Félix Parra stayed with the leading group until the final kilometres of the Pyrenean climbs, making him the team's highest-placed rider in the general classification.

The standout rider of this opening week has undoubtedly been Alex Molenaar. Following an impressive performance in the breakaway during the second stage, he collected enough points to claim the prestigious polka dot jersey. It was a reward for the team's attacking approach from day one and an image that has already become part of Caja Rural's Tour de France history. Achieving it in Barcelona—a city with which Molenaar shares a special connection—made the moment even more meaningful. The Dutch rider explained that targeting the King of the Mountains classification had been one of the team's objectives and that he intends to fight to wear the jersey again.

This Tour de France has only just begun, yet it has already given us unforgettable moments and the satisfaction of being part of one of the most significant chapters in the history of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.
