This past weekend, the team SCOTT CALA BANDIDA was present at the Aragón Bike Race, counting with Sergio Mantecón and Francesc Guerra, who obtained the fourth and fifth place respectively. Marcos Garcia was also competing in the race, he came back after his injury at the ABR, and he showed good sensations while cycling with the leading group..

The Aragon Bike Race took place from the 10th to the 13th of March, having 196km distributed between 4 stages, they started with an individual crono of 21km and it finished in the Hermitage of San Roque. Were Sergio Mantecón was able to get a second place which putted him in the front positions of the general leaderboard. He was followed by Francesc Guerra and Marcos Garcia with a fifth and twenty-fourth spot respectively.

The protagonists of the race were the strong rains, who forced the organization to modify the four stages. Still, Sergio took the victory of a stage, two second places and the leader of the hill. Francesc completed each one of the stages placing himself in the top ten in all of them and Marc showed that he has returned in good shape and that he can cycle next to the top competitors. To fight with the rain the team had at its disposal the Aquazero edition from Gsport, made up by clothes that are highly insulating thanks to the hydrophobic treatment that our woven receives, what this treatment does is that when the water drops fall on the woven they stay as drops and this makes them fall from the clothes without going through the material.

The problem at the second stage was that has prevented me from contesting the general, still I am leaving with a stage victory, two second places, fourth place on the general leaderboard and the leader of the hill. The rest of the team has been performing at an amazing level as well. Marcos has helped us in the tough moments of the race and Guerrilla also finished with a top 5 on the general leaderboard” said Sergio. ” said Sergio.

The race was useful for Sergio and Francesc to prepare for the next race, the Cape Epic. The team, will travel to Sudafrica to compete in the race from the 20th to the 27th of March. The Cape Epic is one of the main events when it comes to races by stages worldwide, it is UCI category and it has some of the cyclists with the best performances around the world.
