T3SCC AT THE BENASQUE VALLEY

T3SCC EN EL VALLE DE BENASQUE

The TowCar Puertos de Ribagorza cycling adventure sounded appealing… 5 emblematic mountain passes with 183,5 km + 2.850 m: Coll de Fadas, Puerto de Bonansa, Coll Castillo de Laguarres, Puerto la Canal-Alto de San Roque and the Puerto de Torreciudad. Combined with our enthusiasm of going back to the Valley of Benasque… all of this was the perfect excuse to add a new adventure at T3SCC.

When we got to the valley, we didn’t even think of unpacking, we decided to go cycling around the Llano Hospital, in the middle of the Natural Park Posets-Maladeta, in the Ribagorza and surrounded by the highest peaks of the Pyrenees. An extraordinary place which history is felt in the air. The existence of this place goes way back to the middle ages when the knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem began the construction of hospitals to help the walkers who crossed the Pyrenees through the mountain passes of the valley. A place where it used to be to seek shelter and now has becomed a hotel where you can rest and eat something after a route. You breathe peacefulness!

From the start, the Pyrenees received us with rains and coldness, nothing that we couldn’t face with our clothes #Aquazero from Gsport.  However, the rest of the days, the sun was the one that kept us company while we cycled through mountain passes such as Ampriu and Chía. There was time for everything, even to do kilometers of gravel.

We had three days of intense cycling, laughter and lots of good food. When we came back we couldn’t have enough of the beauty of Pyrenees and their spectacular valleys. Until next time!
