VICTOR MANUEL FERNANDEZ BETS HEAVILY IN THIS 2022 IN THE XC MARATHON
Víctor Manuel Fernández Grande, a professsional mountain bike cyclist and part of our community of GSport athletes, will face the new season as a racer for the team Beehi Lee Cougan Factory.
The Cross Country Marathon requires a high technical level and a really good physical preparation. And he knows this very well as the racer has raced in different tracks and in different competitions in the XC. He has raced in competitions such as XC Olympic, XC Marathon and races by stages throughout the world.
The 2021 was already a big year for Victor, he achieved lots of victories, here are some highlighted:
- Winner of the national XCM ranking
- Winner of a stage in the Costa Blanca Bike Race
- 2nd place in the Israel Epic UCI race Hors Catégory.
- First Spaniard in the XCM world ranking.
- 15th place in the XCM world ranking.
So far in 2022, he has raced in The Legend of Tartessos, a UCI S2 test where he was able to achieve a 10th spot and the 4th Stage Lanzarote, a UCI S1 race, where he ended up finishing in 2nd place.
Right now, he is placed 19th in the world ranking for the XCM, with a total of 620 points. In 2021, he finished 15th with 600 points, being in this 2 years, the first Spaniard of the ranking.
The next goal for him is the Cape Epic, a race by stages that takes place in South Africa, it’ll take place from the 20th until the 27th of March, with the best racers. The race is in the UCI category and it will be a race by pairs, his partner will be, Pablo Guerrero, who comes from some season on road with the Team BH Burgos.
