THE BIZKAIA DURANGO PREMIERS ITS NEW SEASON DURING THE “SETMANA VALENCIANA”

The season for the Bizkaia Durango team begins. A female team founded in 2004 that has maintained itself as a professional team and a team that we wish a happy 2022 full of accomplishments.

The cycling team Bizkaia Durango joined the “Setmana Ciclista Valenciana”, a competition with a 2.1 UCI rating. This competition gives them the opportunity to do their first lap by stages, it consists of 4 journeys with 480 competitors all of this to put them to the test and find different feelings. The locals Alba Teruel and Sofia Rodriguez where the ones leading the “rose” expedition next to Eukene Larrarte, Iris Gómez, Aileen Schweikart, Beatiz Pereira e Irene Méndez.

“We had good feelings on the debut which was held two weeks ago and we got to Setmana with lots of enthusiasm and desire to do our best and try to fight for an interesting result. I think we have a really solid team, going from experienced racers to newbies in the professional environment”. Said Agurtzane Elorriaga, sport directive of Bizkaia-Durango.

Aileen Schweikart finished as the best racer from Bizkaia-Durango on the general leaderboard from the valencian round. We also want to highlight the crash of Iris Gómez which gave her an elbow fracture and made her go through surgery. We look forward to her speedy recovery.

We will be awaiting a season full of challenges next to Bizkaia Durango!
