The BIKE-MARATHON SCOTT-CALABANDIDA team is born.

Gsport will be responsible for the team kit worn by the members of the @scottcalabandida team as they conquer the international bike-marathon.

We are excited to share with all of you a project that we have begun with great enthusiasm and excitement. The new Scott-CalaBandida team is writing a new chapter in history by creating a team with the best equipment and a roster entirely composed of Spanish bikers. Four world-class national riders with the goal of continuing to strive for the top in the most important competitions worldwide. Sergio Mantecón, Francesc Guerra, José María Sánchez, and Marcos García will not only focus on the bike-marathon, but we will also see these riders compete in trending modalities such as e-bikes or gravel.

We want to boost the talent pool in our country and demonstrate that we have the quality to perform at the forefront in any competition. While it's a team effort, we also strive to be a role model for riders and fans in our country." explains Didac Sabaté, Marketing Manager of  SCOTT España.

The SCOTT-CalaBandida team's calendar is as ambitious as it is challenging. In this first part of the season, they will tackle the following events:

• Costa Blanca Bike Race – January 27th to 30th
• Mediterranean Epic – February 10th to 13th
• Andalucía Bike Race – February 21st to 26th
• Cape Epic – March 20th to 27th

It's a project that many sponsors have joined, and it has already become a big family. The Cala Bandida restaurant group, located in Xàbia, states that "Cala Bandida continues to grow and decides to incorporate an important sponsorship agreement with the SCOTT cycling team, a leader in the sports field, with which it shares many values: the care for a healthy Mediterranean diet, constant team training, and the culture of effort are just a few of them. The projection of the new SCOTT Cala Bandida team will provide greater visibility for our project and open up new business opportunities. Additionally, David Ferrer joins this project as a brand ambassador to underline the values of overcoming challenges and love for sports from an amateur perspective, leaving aside high competition to fully enjoy one of his great passions, cycling."

SCOTT will be the brand responsible for providing their best bicycles, and they will have at their disposal the new SCOTT Spark RC World Cup Evo AXS and the SCOTT Scale World Cup AXS. From Gsport, we will manufacture all the garments that the team will need to achieve their goals in each race. 226ers will play a key role as a sports nutrition brand. In the wheel department, they will use the Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate with Hutchinson tires. Additionally, X-Socks will provide the socks, Eassun the glasses, ISB will be present with their bearings, Galfer with their brake pads and discs, and Hirzl will take care of the gloves. Finally, Sigma, supporting the team with their cycle computers, Zycle with their rollers, and Klinpig, complete the list of official supplier brands of the team regarding equipment.

Highlighting the arrival of Sergio Mantecón to the team marks a pivotal moment in his sports career. One of the best XCO riders in the history of our country will now focus on bike-marathon, a discipline where he already knows what it means to be among the top 10 riders in a World Championship. "After 21 seasons in Olympic distance, I needed to rediscover myself as an athlete and seek new ambitions. Long distance is something that has always brought me joy, I've been successful at it, and I haven't been able to prepare thoroughly, so it seems like the perfect time to start this transition. Alongside the sporting project, a personal project arises: the creation of the structure of a professional team, where I will bring my years of experience from different international and national teams, and my perspective on competitive mountain biking, while also trying to help my teammates improve their sports careers."
